Every disagreement turns into the same argument. One of you pushes for answers while the other shuts down. Small misunderstandings quickly escalate into bigger conflicts. You feel unheard, criticized, alone, or disconnected - even though the relationship matters deeply to both of you.
Eventually, you may start to wonder: How did we get here?
Couples counseling can help you understand what's happening between you and begin to create a different way of relating.

My approach to working with couples is strongly influenced by Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT).
Instead of focusing only on the content of your arguments, we'll look at the cycle underneath them.
Often, both partners become caught in patterns designed to protect themselves or preserve the relationship - but those patterns unintentionally create greater distance.
Therapy can help you recognize that cycle, understand what's happening emotionally beneath it, and begin responding to each other differently.
For Christian couples who want their faith incorporated into counseling, we can make space for your beliefs and values as part of our work.
Faith integration is always optional. Our therapeutic work remains grounded in established couples counseling approaches while honoring the role your faith may play in your relationship.
"Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God." James 1:19-20
